EXCLUSIVE: Roku has greenlit second seasons of Reptile Royalty, UFO Cowboys and Lincoln Log Masters.
Coming a few days after striking an unscripted distribution deal with Fifth Season, the AVoD giant has re-upped the shows that spotlight zoos, UFO-watchers and log building.
Reptile Royalty follows social media star Jay Brewer and his team running the zoo in California, caring for more than 600 of the rarest exotic reptiles on the planet alongside his daughters and fearless, fellow animal lovers.
UFO Cowboys follows the Cowboy Sky Watchers, a group of ranchers who investigate extraterrestrial encounters and paranormal activity throughout the American West—an area with more paranormal sightings than anywhere else in the U.S.
Meanwhile, based on Hasbro’s iconic childhood toy, Lincoln Log Masters follows Cody, Wilson and the Knaughty Log Crew—the only log home building company with the Lincoln Log stamp of approval—as they design, build, break down, and rebuild epic log homes and structures across Oregon.
Brian Tannenbaum, Head of Originals at Roku Media, said each re-up will “build on strong foundations from season one and bring our audience more.”
Tannenbaum is at Mipcom Cannes this week with David Eilenberg, Roku’s Head of Content, who spoke at the confab’s Fast Summit and has just been upped to oversee the Brand Studios segment.
It’s been a busy market for Roku. Earlier this week, the outfit landed distribution for a wealth of unscripted shows including Jessica Alba and Lizzy Mathis’ Honest Renovations, all-star survivalist competition Fight to Survive and Morimoto’s Sushi Master via a multi-year deal with Fifth Season.
