CoffeeTree Books was filled with mystery.

Royal Berglee, a global studies professor at Morehead State University, kept students and community members enthralled with a discussion about UFOs and aliens inside Coffee Tree Bookstore Tuesday night.

“It just seems like we always have these situations come up,” said Berglee.

Berglee has been interested in aliens and other supernatural creatures after he witnessed a UFO sighting in his backyard. Berglee has done extensive research about aliens and UFOs and presents information discovered to the public. Allowing them to make their own conclusions.

He even provided listeners with many instances of UFO and alien sightings in Kentucky.

“I keep running into either people or situations where this has come up throughout my life,” he said. “I’ve ran into it here in Kentucky and a UFO comes over my house and it comes up again, and I meet people who’ve seen UFOs and it comes up again, so I want to look into it.”

This is Berglee’s second discussion regarding the supernatural, he presented a talk last April about Bigfoot. Which was also spotted in his backyard.

By hosting discussions about supernatural phenomena, Berglee tries to spark conversations and inspire members of the community to think about interesting topics.

“It’s for the community to talk, and have a conversation, to open up discussion that people are willing to talk about things more often if they hear it from somebody else,” Berglee said.

Despite his talk being for the community, many students showed up in support of Berglee and to learn more about UFOs and aliens.

“I’ve never been like a firm believer in extraterrestrials, I believe that there is other life out there, but I’ve never been a firm believer,” said Erika Dolan.

Dolan, a freshman legal studies major, wanted to learn more about the possibility of aliens.

“I was very impressed, it kind of freaked me out a little bit, but my beliefs have been challenged, so I think it’ll be interesting to see what I can learn going forward,” she said.
