Locals in Texas are terrified after a UFO was spotted surging through the sky during Monday’s historic total solar eclipse.
Uploaded by @ishyarredondo on TikTok, and widely shared on X, the footage shows a shadow zooming by. The clip then zooms out, revealing the shadow moving in the opposite direction before vanishing entirely.
The caption accompanying the video reads: «A new video just surfaced of the UFO spotted over Arlington, Texas during the solar eclipse today and people are freaking out because it seems to disappear into the clouds.»
Social media has been abuzz with theories about the mysterious sighting, with some attempting to offer explanations.
Many were unconvinced, with one user replying on X: «Shadow on the clouds from a higher altitude airplane. I have seen this many times as an aviation spotter.»
Others joked about the regular UFO spotting across the country, with one writing: «Aliens love visiting the United States of America. Do they know there are other places too?»
Some users were adamant the object was extraterrestrial. «It’s way too slim and sharp to be a plane.»
The solar eclipse on Monday traversed North America, starting over land in Mexico before passing through Dallas, Texas, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Buffalo, and the northwest corner of Canada.

According to NASA, approximately 32 million people lived within the ‘path of totality,’ where the moon completely obscured the sun.
An additional 150 million people were said to reside near this path, with 99 percent of the country’s population able to witness either a partial or total eclipse from their location.
Millions of spectators gathered in areas along the ‘path of totality’ to witness the rare celestial event firsthand.
