I came in last place in The Yak fantasy league and as my punishment, I had to get to Las Vegas Super Bowl week via ground transportation with Frank the Tank. Frank’s guy Mikey Bets picked me up at my house on Sunday morning around 8:25am and we headed into the city to get Frank and Jenks. By 9am we were cruising with the first stop being St. Louis. To get there we crossed the Mississippi River. And boy let me tell you, what a disappointment.
It was pretty great.
We made our way more south and found ourselves at Buc’ee’s, which is an amazing gas station. A giant place with legitimately clean bathrooms that you can get good BBQ in, fresh fudge or peanut brittle, or some sweatshirts and jeans. Hell I even saw a nice cutting board I’d be proud to put in my home!
We stopped in Tulsa, Oklahoma for a hot dog review and then I took over driving. It was about 90 minutes later that we saw these strange green lights in the sky.
It was so weird. And the easy answer is that it was the Paycom building’s signs from below. And while they were admittedly bright, there is no way they’d reflect that highly in the sky. It was eerie. I know that a lot of close encounters happen in the Oklahoma area and I’m not saying anything was landing, but this was certainly a sign of what could be paranormal activity.
We powered through and made it to Texas around 1am. Time for bed!
Tomorrow we’re going to go to Albuquerque, New Mexico and the Four Corner. We’ve got some hot dog places to hit and will hopefully end late at night around the Grand Canyon so we can hit that up first thing Tuesday morning.
