2023, for Pennsylvania, was reportedly a “major” year for strange activity involving UFOs (or UAPs — “unidentified aerial phenomenon” — as they’re now officially called) as well as cryptids like Bigfoot.

This news comes courtesy of Stan Gordon, a Pennsylvania native who remains one of the state’s premier researchers on such phenomena.

According to a recent report published on Mr. Gordon’s website, “Stan Gordon’s UFO Anomalies Zone,” sightings concerning “Some very strange activity” surfaced last year, with citizens throughout the Keystone State calling in about objects they witnessed in the sky — many of which were seen during daylight and at low levels to the ground — ranging in shape from the spherical to the triangular.

Mr. Gordon refers to one such sighting which occurred in Irwin, Westmoreland County, in January of last year, during which a man walking his dogs “observed a white or silver cylindrical object moving steadily” in the firmament.

As far as cryptids go, reports came in concerning not just Bigfoot seen in Pennsylvania, but also black panther sightings (which, as many of you know, aren’t exactly indigenous to the state) and “huge flying creatures” that Mr. Gordon believes may be thunderbirds, which Encyclopedia Britannica explains is a legendary Native American spirt that takes the shape of a huge bird.

As for Bigfoot, Mr. Gordon lists incidents such as two that occurred in Elk County, in which “an 8 to 9 feet tall creature, covered with black and gray hair” was observed not too far away from the witnesses.
