Triangle UFO flies past pilot as audio report to air traffic control emerges

This flight recording of a pilot describing to air traffic control the triangular-shaped UFO that whizzed past him during a flight has emerged, causing big debate online. The audio was uploaded to YouTube where the video has been viewed over 20,000 times in two weeks.

The UFO report comes amid a spate of sightings and news related to extraterrestrials. Police in Miami were prompted to release a statement following the alleged sighting of «10ft» aliens at a mall. After calls from politicians for more governmental transparency about UFOs, a secret briefing will take place this week. Meanwhile, a pilot described to the History Channel his encounter with a «disc-shaped» object over a volcano in Alaska.

The YouTube channel, You Can See ATC, is dedicated to all things aviation, with videos of pilots describing emergencies and stories about unusual scenarios, such as fights on board, during their jobs. In the audio clip, the pilot detailed the 30-foot object that moved at high speed past his cockpit window. The incident took place on December 20, near Frederick, Maryland.

The Piper Cherokee Arrow was flying between from Pittsburgh’s Allegheny County Airport, Pennsylvania to Maryland’s Frederick Municipal Airport. «30024… passed to the northwest… We observed something approximately 30 feet tall. Not sure what it is. At about 6,500 to 6,800 feet,» the pilot said at the start of the audio.

«You said it was 30 feet tall?,» came the incredulous response from air-traffic control. «It was pretty tall, probably about 30 feet tall. It was going opposite direction of us,» the pilot confirmed.

The air traffic controller wanted more details about the object. «NO25, was it moving at a fast pace,?» he asked. «It was moving away, affirmative, for 30024,» the pilot replied.

Eventually, after some chat about the plane landing, the pilot was asked «Arrow 024, what does the object look like?». «Er, it’s kind of hard to describe. It was just tall and, er, pointy,» said the pilot using a description.

«Like a triangle?» the air traffic control official asked. «It was in the shape of a triangle. It was bottom and flat on top. I’m not sure what it is. I do have a picture of it. And 30024 did not appear to be any danger,» the pilot said.

«Cherokee 024, and that object was about 300 feet from you?», the pilot was asked. «It was pretty far away form us. Just noticeable enough for caution to other aircraft,» came the response from the aviation professional.

The pilot was then asked for his number so that an air traffic control supervisor could call him if necessary. «NO24, yeah, my supervisor said [inaudible] talk to you. Just wanna make sure everything is safe up there for future aircraft flying through that. So give him a call once you’re on the ground safely please,» the air traffic controller said.

«Roger, will do, thanks, 30024,» said the pilot. The comments section was full of debate, with many people skeptical. «If you saw it you should be able to describe it,» one person wrote.

Some people had a more logical explanation for the strange flying object. «Haha. I live right near there. I see Canadian geese all the time,» one YouTube account holder said. Another theory put forward was that the pilot saw a helium balloon.

«30 feet tall and pointy at the bottom is a helium balloon», one social media user said. Another person speculated that the 30ft object could have been a new military plane. «I’m old enough to remember when the stealth fighter was still a secret and there was all sorts of UFO reports due to it’s funky shape,» one person hypothesized.

Many people lamented the fact they could not see a picture of the flying object, but the YouTube channel didn’t have access to it.
