«Ancient Aliens» first aired on The History Channel in 2009. The documentary-style TV series follows the five person team as they try to make sense of alleged UFO sightings and extraterrestrial reports episode after episode.
«Ancient Aliens LIVE: Project Earth» plays The Warner Theatre in Torrington on May 2 on the main stage Oneglia Auditorium.
«It’s like a greatest hits of ‘Ancient Aliens,’» said star Nick Pope. He’s earned the nickname «The Real Fox Mulder» as he investigates alleged UFOs like the fictional character Fox Mulder on «The X-Files.» «We’ll show some clips from the show, and some intriguing images that people haven’t seen. We’ll kind of take people around the world. The Great Pyramids. Stonehenge. Puma Punku. We’ll look at those ancient mysteries and ask if there are things about them that are unexplained and maybe extraterrestrial.»

The interactive event is just shy of two hours and includes a meet and greet option that lets attendees meet Pope along with his co-stars Giorgio A. Tsoukalos and William Henry.
«It’s extraordinary,» continued Pope. «The subject has gone from fringe to mainstream in the last few years. We’ve had hearings in Congress. There are multiple UFO-related provisions in for example the current defense bill. We’ve got NASA doing a study. It’s just an amazing time for this whole subject,” he said.
«But we’ll also bring it right upstate. Sightings in and around your part of the country but perhaps more importantly talk about all the developments in Congress and the Pentagon about this. The modern UFO information that’s coming out.»

And the not-so-modern. The alleged flying saucer over Main Street in Waterbury way back in 1954 is expected to be acknowledged as well as the record number of Connecticut UFO sightings reported in 2023..
«There’s no smoke without fire. There’s just story after story from ordinary people in extraordinary situations…It’s now okay and respectable to talk about these things,» said Pope.
