Church News • Greensburg Church of the Brethren hosts a night of fun and fellowship for individuals and groups with developmental disabilities from 5 to 7 p.m. Mondays at the church, 554 Stanton St. Dinner is included. Fundraisers

• Jeannette American Legion will host bingo at 1 p.m. April 7 at the post, 109 S. Fifth St. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Cost: $25 per packet, includes regular and special games. • The 13th annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event to end rape, sexual assault and gender-based violence will be at 10 a.m. April 13 in St. Clair Park, Greensburg. Many male walkers will wear high heels to take an extra step in understanding what women experience every day. Check-in begins at 9 a.m. Prizes will be awarded for the most festive shoes, top fundraiser and the largest team. Pets on a leash welcome. Cost: $5, younger than 12, free. • A rummage and bake sale will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 6 at Congruity Presbyterian Church, 136 Fenneltown Road, Salem. A $2 bag sale will be at 1 p.m. and lunch will be available. Details: 724-668-7740.

• Mon Valley Paws will have a meet-and-greet from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at His Place, 100 Third St., Monessen. Members will be on hand to discuss the mission of the group and donations of pet food and supplies will be accepted. Details: 724-493-8305.

Senior Citizen News

• A Seniors for Safe Driving class will be offered from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 24 at Herminie Senior Center, 101 Sewickley Ave. The class is PennDOT approved and for drivers who are at least 55 years old. • The 17th annual Westmoreland UFO Conference will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. April 6 in the student achievement building at Westmoreland County Community College, 145 Pavilion Lane, Hempfield. Check-in will begin at 8:30 a.m. Speakers will include Ray Keller, Bill Birnes, James Krug, John Ventre, Terry Lynge-Kiehl and Joe Jordan. Special guest speaker will be former U.S.deputy assistant secretary of defense for intelligence operations Christopher Mellon. Volunteer opportunity

• Bushy Run Battlefield, 1253 Route 993, Penn Township, will sponsor a cleanup day from 9 a.m. to noon April 6 at the park. Help is needed to pick up litter and fallen branches and to pull weeds. Bring work gloves, wear sturdy boots and dress for the weather. Lunch will be served at noon. Reservations required: manager@bushyrunbattlefield.com.
