UFO McDonald’s In Roswell To Present Tourist Donations Ronald McDonald House Charities March 6
UFO McDonald’s News:
ROSWELL — One of the most visited McDonald’s in the world – the UFO McDonald’s in Roswell – will distribute $5,000 in visitor donations to 56 respective Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) locations across the world.
Roswell Mayor Tim Jennings and local leaders will join McDonald’s owner/operator Nic Snowberger at 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 6 for a check presentation to a local RMHC representative.
In March 2023, Snowberger erected a worldwide donation box to benefit RMHC’s throughout the world, capitalizing on the multitude of tourists who visit the UFO-themed restaurant.
Fifty states and six countries (Africa, Australia, Canada, India and Mexico) are represented in the donation box, each with a respective slot where cash can be donated.
“Since the UFO McDonald’s has become almost as popular as the UFO phenomenon, we launched the donation box to ask our visitors from across the globe to support the Ronald McDonald Houses in their respective states or countries,” Snowberger said. “I challenge visitors to drop in to the UFO McDonald’s and represent your state while helping kids and their families who receive support at their local Ronald McDonald House!”
“We are grateful to our fellow New Mexicans for their generous donations and of course for the Snowbergers for initiating such a creative means of fund raising to ultimately help the families who rely on RMHC during times of need,” RMHC New Mexico CEO Jessica Wright said.
So far, the state of Texas has donated the most money – $1,462 – followed by New Mexico with $818. Visitors from every state and other countries contributed. The donation box will continue to be housed at the UFO McDonald’s, and collections will be sent annually to respective RMHC’s across the globe.
In 2023, RMHC of New Mexico provided a home-away-from-home for more than 1,300 families whose children were undergoing life-saving treatment in Albuquerque hospitals.
These families stayed a total of 11,078 nights – the most ever in the chapter’s history – where they received housing, meals, and support just steps away from their child’s care.
The public is invited to attend the event and contribute to the donation box, which will take place at the UFO McDonald’s, 720 N Main St, Roswell, NM. For more information contact Bryan Britton at 682.554.7625.
