A tourism board in Kentucky has released this hilarious video, which is aimed at enticing extraterrestrial tourists to visit the Bluegrass state. The video comes after a spate of recent UFO sightings, as well as a secret UFO briefing that took place last Friday, prompted by whistleblowers testifying about their experiences in front of Congress in June 2023.
In case aliens ever do come to earth, something a Harvard professor admitted is «possible«, VisitLEX, the Lexington Convention and Visitors Bureau, prepared a tongue-in-cheek video, showcasing the best of their city and outlining why a break in Kentucky would suit any extraterrestrial tourist.
While aliens are assumed to be technologically advanced, there is the possibility they may not have access to social media or VisitLEX’s website. Therefore, to work around this possibility the tourism board projected their campaign into space with an infrared laser.

Alongside local scientists at the Kentucky Horse Park, the VisitLEX team beamed their tourism campaign towards the planets in the TRAPPIST-1 solar system, which is 40 light years away. The reason for choosing this particular solar system is because, according to the tourism board’s press release, it contains the most potentially habitable planets which are similar in scale to Earth.
The commercial, which was improved by the Federal Aviation Administration, contained an array of local attractions and experiences available in Kentucky. It included beautiful photos of the state and an audio recording of blues musician Tee Dee Young.

Typically, in movies, aliens are depicted as invading and landing in large metropolises, such as New York City. But the VisitLEX team wants to make their city the ideal alien getaway location.
«We believe Lexington is the best place on Earth,” said the VisitLEX President Mary Quinn Ramer. “It’s the ideal location for extraterrestrial travelers to begin exploring our world.”
Quinn Ramer said that the VisitLEX team was ambitious and had the foresight to look to different planets as a source of tourism. While some groups look at Artificial Intelligence to boost their campaigns, VisitLEX is “thinking even further ahead and looking to deep space,» according to their President.

However, Kentuckians who are anticipating a sudden uptick in alien tourism in their state are set to be disappointed. The beam won’t reach its “interstellar destination” for another 39 years, given the great distance away from Earth the TRAPPIST-1 solar system is.

“Of all the things we’ve been beaming into space, why not a positive, friendly message?» said Dr Breen Byrd, a Germanic Languages and Linguistics expert, in the video promoting Lexington. “Come to Lexington. We have horses and bourbon. Just don’t eat us!”
