A recent video from a US
military
base in Iraq has captured public attention by showing an unidentified flying object(UFO), officially named «the
jellyfish
» UAP, near a US operations base.
UFO
enthusiast Jeremy Corbell shared the footage, which he obtained in October 2018, on his YouTube channel. The video reveals a jellyfish-like object moving steadily in one direction over the military base, a USA Today report said.
Corbell, a seasoned UFO reporter, described the object’s movement through a sensitive military area and over water, where it submerged.
Then, the UAP resurfaced and accelerated at a speed beyond the camera’s capture capabilities. Corbell emphasized on X (formerly Twitter), «This UAP of unknown origin displayed transmedium capability. The origin, intent and capability of the Anomalous Aerial Vehicle remains unknown.»
The UAP demonstrated an ability to maintain positive lift without conventional aerodynamic methods for lift and thrust, and lacked the usual signatures of propulsion maneuvers.
Bizarre sightings
The video reveals the ‘jellyfish’ UFO exhibiting rapid color changes from white to black, suggesting swift temperature shifts. According to Corbell, this
mysterious
object submerged into a lake, remaining underwater for 17 minutes before re-emerging and ascending at a 45-degree angle. Witnesses described the object’s ‘legs’ as rigid and motionless, adding to the intrigue of this unusual sighting.
In another report, Corbell disclosed a still image from a video of another UAP, named «The ‘Chandelier’ UAP.» Captured using thermographic technology over the Persian Gulf, this object also lacked conventional flight control surfaces. Corbell mentioned that further details on these UAP sightings are available in his three-part docuseries «UFO REVOLUTION,» which can be watched for free on Tubi.
Unanswered questions
While the footage is compelling, the lack of an official statement from the Pentagon adds to the mystery. The unique characteristics of this UAP, including its shape and behavior, make it one of the most bizarre sightings to date. As with many such incidents, this discovery leaves more questions than answers, fueling ongoing debates and speculations about unidentified aerial phenomena.
New website for UFOs
The US Defense Department has launched a new website to provide the public with declassified information on unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs), the formal name for the mysterious objects previously known as UFOs. The website is run by the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), which was established in 2021 to oversee the efforts to address UAPs. The website will feature photos, videos, reports, transcripts and other resources related to UAPs, as well as a mechanism for current or former government employees, service members or contractors to submit reports on UAPs. The website aims to serve as a «one-stop shop» for UAP information and to increase transparency with the American people.
The launch of the website comes after a series of reports and revelations about UAPs in the past few years. In 2021, the Pentagon released three videos of UAPs captured by Navy pilots, confirming their authenticity. In 2022, the intelligence community released a report on UAPs, stating that there were more than 500 UAP sightings over the last 17 years, and that most of them remained unexplained. The report also said that there was no evidence of extraterrestrial activity. In 2023, a former Air Force intelligence officer testified before Congress that the US government had a program that retrieved crashed UAPs and found «non-human» «biologics» at the crash sites. Following the hearing, a bipartisan group of lawmakers called for a select committee to investigate the government’s response to UAPs.
Nasa, the US space agency, too has also shown interest in UAPs. In 2021, Nasa Administrator Bill Nelson said that he had asked his scientists to look into the UAP issue and to collaborate with other agencies.
