Mysterious lights lit up the night sky over Texas on Sunday night, leading some to believe they might be evidence of UFOs. Residents across the Lone Star State reported the unusual phenomenon, taking to social media to share photos and videos of the sight. «Anyone know what this was that I saw tonight near Mineola, Texas,» James Breeden captioned a video of the lights on X, formerly known as Twitter. 

«Weird light seen over Hunt County… I say UFO… I KNOW you guys are going to tell me SpaceX…..» wrote Hunt County Theft Reports on Facebook.

The Starlink satellites are used to deliver global, high-speed internet coverage. This was SpaceX’s third orbital launch of 2024, according to Space.com. The private spaceflight company aims to launch 144 missions this year to beat its record of 98, set in 2023.

It’s not the first time Starlink satellites have caught the attention of Texans. In July 2023, residents around the state also reported seeing a massive sphere of light beneath a glowing ring in the sky. The peculiar illumination was later confirmed to be from a SpaceX launch earlier in the day.
