Chesley wasn’t a believer until he saw strange phenomena before his eyes
FOOTAGE shared by a commercial pilot reveals his chilling encounter with an extraordinary UFO near a volcano.
Theo Chesley has spent nearly 40 years flying in Alaska and has heard thousands of stories about strange sights in the sky.
However, he remained a skeptic all these years, until he had his own run-in with the unexplained in 2019.
Chesley was flying by Mount Shishaldin, an active volcano on Unimak Island.
It is the highest mountain peak of the Aleutian Islands within the state.
«The morning in late October 2019, we had a normal charter flight from Standpoint direct to Dutch Harbor with three passengers aboard,» Chesley told the History Channel.

«About halfway through the flight, we’re approaching the volcano from the north.»
Chesley recalled that the weather that day was «fairly good» with great visibility.
«And we saw something in the sky, about 15 miles south of the volcano,» he said.
That’s when Chesley claims to have encountered a disc-shaped object in the sky.

«Just almost perfect symmetry,» he said.
«As we continued our flight path, the disc became more prevalent and turned into a vertical fashion.
«We knew something extraordinary was happening in front of us.»
Chesley claims at the same time he and the passengers saw the disc, «a green sphere» appeared on the side of the mountain.
David Childress, an author and researcher, heard Chesley’s story and traveled to Anchorage to meet with him and examine the footage.
Chesley described the disc as having a tail around it.
«A little bit of a wisp coming out the back,» he said. «So I’m looking at it going, ‘OK, what is that?'»
Chesley believes the disc wasn’t a ring of smoke from the volcano because it would not have held its shape as long as it did.
He said in all the years he has been flying, with 15,000 hours of flight time, he had never seen anything like this before.
When talking to Childress about the green sphere, Chesley said something flew inside of it, almost appearing like a loop.
«And to be honest, you know, my concern level was going about through the roof at that point,» he said.
Based on the fact that Chesley and the other passengers were able to see the object from about 40 to 50 miles away, he estimates the object was half a mile wide.
«I mean, it definitely makes you wonder,» he told Childress.
Just six months later, Chesley said he had another encounter in a different aircraft.
«I look out my window and all of a sudden, there’s a huge cloud formation that came out of nowhere,» he said.
He said the formation appeared right above the volcano.
«But I’ve never seen anything like this in my life,» he said.
Chesley claimed the cloud «morphed into several different shapes.»
He put the aircraft on autopilot and flew through the strange craft.
After he passed through, Chesley realized he was off course and heading toward the mountain.
He shut autopilot off and got the plane back on course but it soon was heading back toward the mountain again.
«So at that point, I go, ‘No, something’s not right here. I’m gonna hand-fly the aircraft.'»
He claims he’s never had that happen to him before while in autopilot.

«So the autopilot was sensing some weird magnetic thing and pulling you in, then?» asked Childress.
«Exactly,» said Chesley. «Something internally in the aircraft was feeling a magnetic pull.»
