What better way to start the year than with some 2024 predictions?

2023 was a massive year for Ufology. Not only did a highly credible whistleblower come forward and confirm the existence of legacy UFO crash retrieval, reverse-engineering, and investigation programs, but the United States House held a hearing where credible witnesses and whistleblower David Grusch testified in front of the world. Although it doesn’t look like the UAP Amendment will pass into law, we’ve at least entered the mainstream and are slowly de-stigmatising the topic, which is a huge step forward.

But what can we expect from the phenomenon in 2024?

UFO Disclosure…maybe?

Retired Army colonel and army liaison to the UAP Task Force Karl Nell, who just so happens to be whistleblower David Grusch’s former boss, spoke at last year’s Sol World Conference, where he proposed a UFO disclosure timeline. This timeline outlined a plan for the next decade of UFO-related developments inside the United States Government and the general disclosure.

In this plan, he discussed the likelihood of 2024 being the year that showcased and confirmed the existence of UFOs on a grand scale. According to Nell, we’re on track for government acceptance in 2024. Could this be the year the United States officially confirms that the origins of UFOs are otherworldly? I doubt we’ll have undeniable evidence this year, but the confirmation would be a huge step forward.

Our current goal should be to focus on de-stigmatising the phenomenon within the public and academic sectors, so having world governments admit the phenomenon isn’t man-made would change the world as we know it.

A new James Fox film

Filmmaker James Fox has also confirmed his new film, titled ‘The Program’, will be released in the summer of this year and features segments from first-hand witnesses. This is huge because direct first-hand witnesses of UFO legacy programs are essential in our path to disclosure. David Grusch has publicly revealed all he legally can, but he’s not a first-hand witness. If James Fox pulls through, this is what’s needed to help blow this whole thing wide open.

Fox’s previous films on the UFO phenomenon have been extraordinary, and his documentary titled ‘The Phenomenon’ may be the best UFO documentary currently out there. So, a film focused on the United States’ secret UFO program, including first-hand witnesses and sitting members of Congress, would be nothing short of detrimental.

An increase in UFO media

The UFO phenomenon has received a lot of mainstream attention this past year, thanks to the historic UFO hearing and whistleblower revelations. Because of this, there will be a large uptick of UFO media within popular culture.

In 2023, we saw the release of Netflix’s new UFO documentary titled “Encounters”, and President Barack Obama’s production company Higher Ground Productions is currently working on a feature film about Barney and Betty Hill’s UFO abduction story. Hollywood filmmaker Wes Anderson also released a comedy titled “Asteroid City” about the phenomenon, which I still haven’t watched, believe it or not (I’m very weary of Hollywood-backed UFO media). Either way, it seems that UFOs are popular in Hollywood again.

Joe Rogan hosts the largest podcast in the world, and news host Tucker Carlson hosts his television program on the social media site X. Both of these people platformed whistleblower David Grusch and broadcasted his claims to the world. Regardless of your views on these two public figures, they have an extensive reach and can shape pop culture discussion.

Discussion around UFOs and similar conspiracies has exploded on social media in 2023. While the legacy news media attempted to downplay the revelations and cover on behalf of the United States Government, discussion was rampant, and the number of UFO believers increased exponentially. The viewing numbers don’t lie, and people are leaving traditional media behind in favour of shows and podcasts through online platforms. This helps because even though social media aren’t entirely unregulated, the U.S. government’s UFO embargo doesn’t transcend to social media.

One particular interview stands out the most: David Grusch’s appearance on the popular YouTube channel YesTheory in collaboration with Jesse Michel. Long video essays by online content creators are a winning format, with the formula bringing in more viewers than traditional media. The YesTheory episode with David Grusch was very laid back, had all the markings of a viral video, and presented his claims in a refreshingly unbiased light.

David Grusch also appeared on Jesse Michel’s YouTube channel, and these videos have brought in millions of views. Media like this is needed to expose more people to the phenomenon, as audiences gravitate towards these types of videos more than the mainstream news. Considering that these channels are more unbiased than your typical news channel, they’re more reliable in today’s climate.

While things turned sour towards the end of 2023 with the UAP Amendment under threat, 2023 was the most important year for UFO disclosure. While I don’t think we’ll learn the truth this year, the next decade of Ufology is looking bright.

Oh, and the Mexican “alien mummies” put forward by known hoaxer Jaime Maussen will absolutely be debunked this year.
