The notice mentions a ‘classified member briefing on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs)’
The House Oversight Committee is set to receive a members-only briefing about UAPs — also known as UFOs — later next week, according to a hearing notice obtained by The Messenger.
The notice mentions a «classified member briefing on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs)» and comes from ranking member Rep. James Raskin.
The briefing is set to happen next Tuesday, and will count with the Office of the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community regarding UAPs. The news was first reported by Axios.
Congress passed a defense bill earlier in December that includes a measure to compel the government to release records about UFOs, or UPAs. It states that any records that are not already public knowledge must be unclassified and released within 25 years, unless the president decides otherwise.
