There has been an increase in the amount of people – believers and skeptics – who feel as though the US government are hiding something, with regards to UFOs.
Earlier this year, Senate majority leader, Chuck Schumer, introduced a UFO transparency bill on the heels of testimony given to Congress by the retired air force officer David Grusch.
Grusch had made a number of accusations regarding the US government and their knowledge of UFOs.

The goal of this transparency bill was to make things clearer for the public, and it was seen as a positive step forward in an era of misinformation and conspiracy.
However, since then, a small group of Republicans have seemingly quashed any chance the public had of being made privy to this info.

As a result, some members of the public now feel even more suspicious that the truth is being hidden from them.
Some on social media feel as though this is yet another example of the elite keeping the important information for themselves.
As put in a recent opinion piece in The Guardian, ‘It’s clearly in the public interest to get to the bottom of incidents like these, whether you believe these objects are of extraterrestrial origin or not’.
Trevor Timm wrote: «The truth may be out there. But believers and skeptics alike should be able to unite on one thing: force the government to reveal what it knows and what it doesn’t know. We will all be better off.»
