I informed the readers of this column not long ago about the press conference held on September 27, 2010, at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., regarding the alleged interest of UFOs in nuclear weapons.
As several veterans attested, including two retired colonels, on several occasions UFOs, appearing above nuclear missile silos, disrupted their guidance and control systems, and in December 1980, a discoidal UFO directed beams of radiation at a nuclear weapons depot.
We now know, from declassified documents of the Air Force, about the incidents that took place at the bases of Minot, North Dakota, in 1966 and Malmstrom, Montana, in 1975. It is also known, even from the Blue Book project, that on August 1, 1965, at the base of F.E. Warren, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, six objects of unknown origin hovered over the missile silos for an hour. Robert Hastings, one of the organizers of the press conference mentioned above, interviewed two former missile launch officers who witnessed this last incident. The two said that the aerial objects appeared elongated but could be seen as discs from one side. Anyway, the Russians couldn’t do such a thing, so there was only one possibility left…
This is how, less than a month after the above conference, on October 23, 2010, at the same Air Force base, F.E. Warren in Cheyenne, communication was temporarily lost with 50 Minuteman III missiles. The five facilities, named from Alpha to Echo, as well as the 319th Strategic Missile Squadron, were not able to order any launches during this period.
The news was found out by Mark Ambinder, a contributing editor at The Atlantic, who published it three days later, after which it was picked up by the international press.
The spokesperson of the Air Force explained that the incident, which would have lasted 59 minutes, was due to a hardware component mistakenly replaced by a technician and gave assurances that the emergency system remained functional. However, some question this version, as UFOs were reported in the area during that period. Robert Hastings traveled to the region, contacting several people, six of whom saw one or more UFOs in the…
