Between the infamous Marfa lights and the spine-tingling story of Bragg Road, Texas is no stranger to UFO sightings. What most people don’t know, however, is that one of the most credible close encounters in history occurred right here in Texas. The Levelland UFO Case is baffling, eerie, and absolutely fascinating, and I can’t wait to tell you all about it.

This small, dusty town in the Texas Panhandle is the site of the November 2-3 Levelland UFO Case, which ufologists consider to be one of the most credible UFO sightings in history.
The men stated they witnessed a blue flash of light near the road they were traveling on, which was located about four miles west of Levelland. Once the object was out of view, the truck started normally.
No more than an hour later, another driver named Jim Wheeler reported a similarly-shaped object blocking his path on a road four miles east of Levelland. His car also died, and as he exited the vehicle, the object took flight. Wheeler’s car also started just fine once the object departed.
Due to the consistency and sheer number of the sightings, Project Blue Book, the U.S. Air Force branch dedicated to investigating UFOs, decided to investigate.
Ufologists, however, disagreed with this theory.
Hynek also stated that ball lightning cannot cause automobile failure. Additionally, the Project Blue Book investigator only interviewed nine of the 15 witnesses.
